The Woodcock and Jefferson families Deal, Kent WEDDING OF MR. E. WOODCOCK AND MISS. K. JEFFERSON The wedding took place quietly at All Saints Church, Whitstable on Monday, the Vicar (Rev. G. Hillyard) officiating, of Mr. Ernest Woodcock, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Woodcock, of Barford, near Norwich, and Miss Kathleen Jefferson, youngest daughter of the late Mr. James Jefferson, and of Mrs. Jefferson, of 15, Belle Vue Avenue, Whitstable. The bride is well known in the Sandwich area. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. R. Jefferson, made a charming figure in an ankle-length gown of white velvet, trimmed with silver, her veil being held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Her two bridesmaids were the Misses Mildred Bingham and Doris Nowers, who wore dainty ankle-length frocks of sea-green taffeta and headbands of self material and carried Victorian posies of cream roses. Their diamante clips were the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. C. Gaskin was best man. Following the ceremony, an informal reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. The bride travelled in a green ensemble. The bride's gift to the groom was a silk dressing gown and the reciprocal gift was a radio set. Mr. and Mrs. Woodcock were the recipients of a large number of handsome presents...
